Ambassador Susan E. Rice
Domestic Policy Advisor (2021-2023), U.S. National Security Advisor (2013-2017), and U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations (2009-2013)
Ambassador Susan E. Rice was Domestic Policy Advisor to President Joe Biden as well as President Obama’s National Security Advisor. She is the only person to have served in both roles. Rice most recently was a Senior Advisor at the RAND Corporation, exploring the geopolitical implications of artificial intelligence, a member of the Defense Policy Board, and the 2024 Bernard and Susan Liautaud Visiting Fellow at Stanford’s Freeman Spogli Institute and a Distinguished Visiting Fellow at Stanford’s Institute for Human Centered Artificial Intelligence. The author of the NY Times bestselling memoir, “Tough Love: My Story of the Things Worth Fighting For”, Rice was previously a contributing opinion writer for the New York Times, Distinguished Visiting Research Fellow at American University, Visiting Senior Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School of Government’s Belfer Center, Visiting Fellow at the Harvard Institute of Politics, and Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution. Ambassador Rice currently serves on the Board of Directors of Netflix (NASDAQ: NFLX). Ambassador Rice received her master’s degree (M.Phil.) and Ph.D. (D.Phil.) in international relations from New College, Oxford University, where she was a Rhodes Scholar. She received her B.A. in history with honors and distinction from Stanford University. A native of Washington, D.C., Ambassador Rice is married, with two grown children.

Global peer group of CEOs and Board Chairs
The inaugural SISTRUM retreat is open to CEOs, Presidents and Board Directors from EMEA and the Americas. The cohort will be capped at 25 participants to ensure an intimate learning environment and will be curated to ensure complementarity and privacy.
